Traveling Back in Time......

The Living History Farms

We really, really enjoyed having Aunt Brooke, Jake and Emma come see us

on Wednesday. We loved hanging out at the farms with them and

learning about the good ol' days...

Miss-O, Emma, Jacob, & C-man

at the 1700 Farm......

the boys would be working in the fields and gardening

and the girls would help the mothers cook over the campfire....

actually, this time of the year the whole family would

all be out on a big buffalo hunt.

In town the girls were great as sweeping up in the

1875 cabinet maker's building.
The 1800 farm....

What a HOT, HOT, HOT day......

Corn Fed, Mid-western Bred......

Nothing like that sweet, delicious cob of corn in the summer.

Taking a bite; snap, crunch, pop, squirt.

Taste of peaches and cream corn, salt crystals melting on the tip of your tongue.

Butter making its path down your chin.

Doing your own way of munching off of the cob.

All the way to the right like a type-writer.

All the way around, then push to the right.

After the meal, time to take a tooth pick (or floss) and pick the fresh

kernels that have stuck in between your teeth.

All the while, the kitchen is wafting with a sweet and delectable smell of

fresh corn on the cob, picked off the stalk.

The fun tube ride....Miss-O, Marin, and Uncle Chris rode it twice it was so much fun.

Angie and I even survived the spinning and steep slide!
