Q: What do you do on a snowy spring day?

A: Paint the kids' room!
When we moved into our house almost 5 yrs ago, this was the first room we did. It was c-man's room; decorated in bugs and a pretty baby blue that could almost go for periwinkle. Thinking ahead, I made sure it had some pink and purple in the wallpaper, in case we had a little girl in the future. What I didn't foresee was that my kids would love to pick at the wall paper border and tear it apart...so after tolerating the ragged wall paper for 5 years, off it goes this past week. Today, a fresh color of paint; "Fresh hay."

[Inhale!]

Do you smell that?
I smell SPRING!
My olfactory sensors also play on my memories and I smell LOVE! It was this time 7 years ago that I met Paul!

Now this next thing that I say only a nurse would laugh and find it humorous, but respiratory distress brought Paul and I together. I have a lot to thank that pt. (who I'm sure didn't do it on purpose but) it was meant to be in my books. For this was the night that I rushed the pt. down to ICU and gave report to this cute guy; Paul!

I saw him later when I went down with my co-worker who smoked, I just wanted to get some fresh air. Not sure how I was getting fresh air, but it was nice to get off the floor for a few minutes. This dates us, this is when employees could smoke right at the doorway. While we enjoyed the night spring air, he caught my eye again.

Later, another co-worker asked if I wanted to go to Gene's and play pool with her and her "friend" Paul. It was a sure thing! The rest of March is when Paul and I played "Jr. High" for while and used our mutual friend to "go out." He was quiet and shy. I was a bit reserved, just getting out of a sticky relationship.

Paul and I had one thing in common, we were working the night shift. So our days and nights were opposite with the rest of the world. We could talk on the phone all night. Hang out all night(with our night-shift friend of course.) I would come home and sleep all day....with the fresh air blowing in....aw! SPRING! [inhale]

I was starting to fall for him and it was like it hightened all my senses....and then enclosed it in my memory bank.......for every spring after, I've always smelled our budding relationship......[inhale]

Finally, Paul did ask me to go on a date all by ourselves! After that it was history! Now I can exhale and know that I'm at the place where I was meant to be. [exhale]

Keeping Busy.....

Spring Break is upon us and we've been keeping busy this week. Monday, we returned from our trip. Tuesday, Daddy took C-man and Miss-O to the Library for Circus games and fun while I went to PT. Then they visited Grandma to see how her leg is doing and to brighten up her spirits.

Yesterday, my friend and her boys and our friend's daughter came to play. 5 kids under the age of 6! The kids had fun playing, C-man and his buddy E-man played their favorites: Star Wars and Legos and chatted the whole time. They don't get to see each other much since they are in school now.

Today, the kids and I went to Tiny Tot Yoga. C-man had a blast. His favorite was doing hand stands up against the wall and Miss-O liked playing with the balloons.
Miss Jessi does a wonderful job of incorporating fun animals, pictures, and stories and turning it into yoga.

Happy St. Patrick's Day at Preschool!

C-man was delighted to find a friend about his age at the Mommy-n-me Preschool. Now he knows what Miss-O and I are talking about when we are talking preschool. He was excited to play with his new friend. He even took on the responsibility and helped with setting out the treats and pouring water for the little ones. He was such a good role-model!
Marble art!

Miss-O and her friend J.J. are playing dollies....immediately after taking this photo I had to intervene in the dispute of O taking the stroller away from J.J., (never a dull moment!)

Miss-O and C-man happy to be playing side by side.

She's getting to be such a BIG girl!

This is actually from a couple of weeks ago...but Miss-O loves to cut, cut, cut.......she can do this for hours and I let her make the biggest of big messes because it's worth her entertainment, it's worth her fine motor development and it's worth a peace of mind for me......(except when it's clean up time!) I've been slowly getting some scrapping done when she cuts!
Today was the first day that Miss-O mandated potty-training.....so I wiped out all my plans and went with it...let me tell you, she's very stubborn and so when she agrees to potty-train and it's all her idea and on her schedule.....I go with it......
we're making very tiny steps.....she wore her big girl panties, until they were wet........she agreed to get back into her 2nd pair, until they were dirty..............OH and the tears and feeling so much in despair when they were wet and dirty!
OH the drama!
But seriously she is very sensitive and likes things very clean.....so she felt VERY bad messing up her Dora and princess panties.........even after the fact....she cried when I rolled up the rug to wash it...............this may take awhile....but we've got a whole year yet, until I put her into "real" preschool.....if she's like her mommy and daddy, she won't train until 3 years old.

I just can't believe we're at this point when she's potty-training....when did she get to be a BIG girl???????

Girl's Day Out!

We went to the Library with Grandma, Aunt Angie, and Cousin Marin yesterday morning. Usually Miss-O goes with Grandma for Toddler Time at the Library on Tuesdays.
It was so fun to watch the girls get into the actions to different finger plays and songs. When the egg shakers came out, it was like the Librarian threw out candy.....all the kids raided the shakers and started to shake and dance.
After reading some books at the library and fighting over the kangaroo.....we decided to go the J.C. Mall and play at the play area. The girls played to their hearts content until it was time to eat. We finished the Girl's Day Out by having lunch at the mall and then home for a nap.
Thanks for a great day girls!

Miss-O in the Lion's Mouth Tunnel!
Miss Marin attempting to climb the slide!

Miss Marin loved to shake it and dance to the music, we loved to watch her!

Kidsfest!!

Grandma and Grandpa Roberts took C-man and Miss-O to Kidsfest 2009. This has been a tradition for the grandparents to take the kids. (Honestly, I don't like the crowds so much...I can only handle crowds once a year and I save that for the state fair!)
So here are the picks showing how much fun the four had.

Weeeeeee! Miss-O going down the slide.
Excuse me Mr. Zebra, have you seen Mr. C-man lately?

Miss Kitty where is Miss O?

C-man was pulled from the crowd to be the Magician's assistant!

Hugs from Scrubby bear! "Don't forget to wash your hands!" He whispered in Miss-O's ear.

Kisses for Clifford.....She was mesmerized by Clifford per Grandma.

Striking a pose with Obi Wan Kanobi.

ZZZZZ.......ZZZZZZ......ZZZZZZ......

Darth Vader has caught C-man, use your force C-man!

Storm Troopers and Sand people oh my!

Look Grandpa, we've got tatoos!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a nice day!!!!

Just Another Tuesday......

Grandma Roberts got C-man and me this cool Holy water holder......Mommy FINALLY hung it up.....I love to bless myself and I blessed myself over and over and over today......Mommy did a cool video of me blessing myself and saying, "In da name of the Fadder and the Son and the Hody Spurit. AMEN!" (just think New Jersey style talk and you've got me down pat!) Unfortunately, the video did not up-load to the blog.....
Deep in thought.........I wonder what she is thinking of?????

Miss O posing in front of her house....or pirate ship.......or train......or car.....or doghouse.......or whatever it happens to be in her little imagination at the time.....Daddy cut open a door and windows, how cool is this box????!!

"Cheesers!"
The box has seen it's days.....about 5 of them to be exact and it's starting to wear down with all the play the kids put into it this past weekend......I even found Daddy inside it!
A box is the best toy ever! Every kid should have one!
