"Is it October First, yet?"

Here is a picture of C-Man and Miss-O last year during Halloween........So for the last week, I've heard the question, "Is it October first yet, Mom?" It all started when C-man and I went to Walmart to find the supplies for his costume and I bought spiderwebs....he thought that was sooo cool and wanted to decorate the house immediately. I told him not until the 1st of October. So each day, I'm asked if it's October yet. C-man is very excited for Halloween this year, he has three different celebrations!! He wanted to dress different for each event, I finally have him convinced to stick with one costume!!
Yesterday, we went on a fall walk and we used our eyes, ears, and noses to find things that remind us of fall. I also gave him a bag to put things in.....he was so excited about this, filled his bag with some of the leaves that are coloring and falling, nuts, sticks, and rocks! We crunched on the leaves, and saw mums, pumpkins and a scarecrow. He said, "When it's Fall time, it's Halloween time!" He just can't get Halloween off of his mind, so cute. During the walk, Miss-O just hung out and enjoyed her stroller ride....she was talking, but I don't know French or Japanese, yet. (must find a translator!) At the end of the walk we finished by eating pumpkin bars!
So a Happy Fall to everyone, may you slow down enough to smell it, see it, taste it, and hear it!

Minnesota Fishing Excursion

Just a few pics of the anglers.......

Lover with his catch.

Grandpa with the biggest catch, he'll be hosting the fish fry this year.

Paul and (Fred or Gene) one of the Brunner bros. cheffin' it up....

Grandpa, Rob, and Paul. Here's a proud trio with their fish!

Happy 30th Birthday!

Instead of the ritual surprise birthday party, Lover received something much bigger and better for his 30th birthday. He went on a fishing excursion up in Minnesota. Yes, he was able to rough it, fish, eat fried foods, fish, sleep, fish, did I mention that he fished??? What a treat to go and celebrate your birthday for a week too!

Lover deserved this get-away, he's a wonderful husband/Daddy and works very hard at home and the hospital.
He was missed very much by his family last week. C-man informed me that he was the Daddy now that Daddy was away. He also decided that he should sleep in bed with me, since he was the Daddy. He slept in his Daddy's shirt that smelled like Daddy. Miss-O would once in awhile call out, "Dadda? Dadda?" I, of course wore his shirt to bed too. We all survived the week and now glad that we're all back together again!

Going Gray!!

I'm going to go gray very fast! Or I may be bald due to the pulling out of my hair. Why you might ask....? This teaching thing may not be what I want it to be.
My first group of students were so good. These students; well I've disciplined them in the last three weeks more than I have to my own children!
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'm just writing in frustration right now. We have until January to tweak and get all the kinks out.....hopefully, they'll be able to come full circle and succeed. I'm praying for lots of patience during this journey.
Like I told the students, in the end; what they put into it is what they are going to get out of it......and it's up to them if they are going to pass themselves or fail themselves.......we'll see how it goes!
Okay, I feel better journaling; you may not have a clue what I'm talking about, but I feel better now!

Here's Teeny-TIny, Miss O's and C-man's cousin

Isn't she so sweet? She is two months now. I see a little C-man in her right now looking at this pictures. She enjoyed the party as well! I think she also enjoyed the football score....her Daddy will be so proud!

Miss O's Birthday

This was Miss O's party on the Mehmen/Brunner side. We celebrated while we were camping on Labor Day weekend. She loved her meal, fussed, loved her confetti cupcake, fussed, loved her presents, and loved her nap with Daddy.

Here's Miss O: Had her Wilson Party...She loved her meal, loved climbing on her presents, (C-man opened them), LOVED the chocolate cupcake, and loved her nap afterwards.

What we didn't love so much is that football score of 15-13 (Cyclones)

One Year Old on September 12th!!!

In one year......you grew some hair...
you obtained a sense of humor...
you already love the phone...

you learned to pose for the camera...
you discovered your feet & toes...
you learned to smile..

you learned to make raspberry noises...

you discovered the rooms in the house...
you already have a love for water...
you grew from this tiny baby...
you've always been this cute...

and now.......

you are our

one year old!

Happy Birthday to you!
Miss-O, with eyes of blue!
We love you Lots & Lots
& bunches & bunches!!
Love, Mommy, Daddy, & Big Brother!

Check Engine!

If it's not the kids or the dog; it's the car! Just received the title to my car. It is officially mine! It is officially in need of repair.......$1300 worth!! I forget what Lover all said that it needed; something about this leaking, low coolant, and that not working......Have you seen that commercial where the couple is in the car and she makes the last payment for the car via her phone and then the car clunks out.....well, about the same thing here! We are blessed that Lover went to car repair school (there's another name for it, but I'm too overwhelmed to think of it). So he'll be repairing the car in a couple of weeks. We are also blessed that Mom and Dad Roberts have a spare car for us to borrow!!! Thank you so much! It'll all work out, just another challenge and problem-solving exercise this month!!

Urbanized Deer in the City

Just a funny tidbit today......last night on my way home from work, I stopped at a stop light (near a woody area and the river). I look at all streets and see that there are no cars to be seen... I thought to myself, this is rather silly to stop here and wait at a red light, when I'm the only car in sight......just then I noticed a Momma deer and her two fawns crossing the street in front of me (appropriately, may I add) they were looking both ways and everything!!!! Just as the light turned green, they made it to the sidewalk........not sure, but I'm thinking that Momma deer knows how to push the walk button at the stop light!!

Morning Mishaps

Well, this morning started out without a hitch. Getting ready for preschool; C-man's first real day without his parents there. 12 minutes before preschool starts and 5 minutes away from leaving.... C-man poked himself in the eye....and it really, really burned and hurt and he couldn't see for awhile....poor thing. So we nurses did what we could do; treat the symptoms...Cold wash cloth to the eye, Tylenol, and TLC. Meanwhile, T-dog decides to vomit on the floor (thank goodness for wooden floors!!) and Miss-O has a poopy diaper. Wow, things can change in just a matter of minutes....7 minutes later, C-man claims he can see again, the vomit is cleaned up and poopy diaper changed and we're off to preschool and we made it just in time!!! I'm thankful that Daddy was around and helped out in this situation......with our team effort we can accomplish the morning mishaps!

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOES OUT TO PAULA TODAY!!!!

"C-man found GUILTY of playing with the ink pad"

C-man and I talked about the incident yesterday. He now tells me he was trying to give himself a big tattoo.......hhhhmmm........(a mother hopes her son will never want tattoos like this for permanent....)

The Case of the Missing Underwear

Talked to C-man today, the missing underwear is not flushed down the toilet, he promises!!! After much pondering on what underwear I dressed him in yesterday, I see that they are in the appropriate spot; the laundry basket! Phew! We are clear of any plumbing difficulties!

Did I do it?

This is the first time blogging, I'm a rookie at it; however I'm not a rookie at journals. What a fine time to wind down and entertain those close to me with a glimpse of our lives; Roberts-"Party of Five."

Just a bit about today, probably the most jammed day we've had in few weeks. Took C-man to preschool for orientation and it went well, he reacquainted with old friends and pointed out that he'll have new friends this year.

Then after lunch, the kids went to their first babysitter that is a friend of ours and a familiar face to the kids, good-byes were difficult (especially for miss-O), but later in report I heard it went well. Let's rewind a bit, forgot to tell you about the ink incident.........

As I'm getting ready for my first time teaching and getting clothes ready in the basement, C-man decided to take the stamps he has and play with the ink pad....so I find him blue ink on his face, both arms, both legs; covered.....mind you this is not washable ink.....we scrubbed him, had to use some alcohol wipes, and still he was my little smurf with red hair!!!! What a sight....meanwhile, I'm scrubbing resolve in the carpet and packing the kids to the babysitters for the first time!

C-man didn't leave his mischief to just the ink today.......Well, let's just say we have underwear that may or may not have some "substance" in them MIA!!!!!! Yes, while Grandpa was moving cars around, C-man states to Grandpa that he pooped his pants and is wearing a totally new outfit once Grandpa comes back in.....Grandma notices that C-man didn't totally do his wiping duties and again another garment is donned.....during this time Grandma asks, "where's your underwear?"

C-man changes the subject, after another inquiry; C-man states, "Well, I didn't flush it down the toilet." Okay, let's do some reverse psychology.....this may mean that he did in fact flush the undies down the toilet......plunger is ready and waiting!!!!

If not in the toilet, well We'll find them eventually......Please Lord, don't let them be in our bed!! Let you know about the mysterious missing underwear....TO BE CONTINUED.........

BTW, teaching went well tonight looking forward to the real thing next week!!! and p.s. C-man is still a little blue yet, even after a bath!!!
