Stocking Stuffer!

Daddy found Miss-O taking the stuffed animals out of the crocheted stockings that my cousin Denise made for the kids. Daddy quickly grabbed his phone camera and took a picture of Miss-O wearing the stockings. How cute is that?!? Daddy said that she was singing "jingle bells, jingle bells, all the waaaaay! Oh, what fuuuun, HEY!"
Another Christmas tune she sings is Happy Birthday Jesus!
She's always cracking us up some way or another!

The Christmas Game

I was tagged from my cousin Michelle on this one......it's a cute game!

1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? I do a little of each, gives it a nice variety under the tree.

2. Artificial or real tree? I grew up with a real tree, but we have an artificial tree...would like to do a real one sometime and enjoy that fresh smell! I heard on the radio the other day that this gentleman does not like artificial trees because it reminds him of a giant toilet brush....well guess who has that on her mind this year!?!

3. When do you put up the tree? Put up the tree the first Sunday of Advent, we decorate it within the week.

4. When do you take it down? New Years Day

5. Do you like eggnogg? I'll have a shot of it, the kids absolutely love it!

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Baby dolly, barbies, Get in shape Girl exercise equipment!

7. Do you have a nativity scene? yes, two of them.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My husband

9. Easiest person to buy for? my children

10. Worst Christmas gift you have ever received? A sweater with tinsel sewn into it, it was itchy!

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail

12. Favorite Christmas movie? Christmas Vacation and Elf

13. When do you start Christmas shopping? Usually end of November, I'm mostly a cyber-shopper.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Don't think so.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? All the appetizers!

16. Clear of colored lights on the tree? We have colored.

17. Favorite Christmas song? My ultimate favorite is O' Holy Night!

18. Travel or stay home? a little of both, we'll actually be home on Christmas day this year since I work Christmas Eve Evening.

19. Santa's reindeers? Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Vixen, and Rudolph...there's more just forgot them.

20. Angel or star on top of the tree? I'm trying to find my Santa hat to put up there but if I can't find it, it will be Mom's 1960's angel.

21. Open gifts Christmas eve or morning? A little of both and depends on the year.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Packaging on Toys!

One Little Monkey......

One little monkey
jumping on the couch.
She fell off, bumped her head
and cried ouch!
Then she got sleepy
and little spacey-eyed.
She fell asleep, woke up
and vomitted to our surprise.
Then this little monkey's mommy and daddy
took her to the emergency room without
any hesitation!
Yes, our little monkey is fine now but she gave us quite a scare.
We got in right away. Two nurses saw her when she was drowsy and sleepy.
Then we waited for the Dr. to come see her for about 40 min.
In the last 15 min. she became perky and was herself.
The Dr. said that after falling, she had an adrenaline rush and then an adrenaline crash, which made her sleepy. But in the next 24 hours will be important to watch her. So we have to wake her every four hours and make sure she doesn't projectile vomit, have a seizure, is inconsolable, or has lethargy.
Poor Baby! But still a little champ. She has been doing fine so far. I hope and pray that she will make it to 11am without any difficulty.
I told Lover that out of the two kids, I would pick her to go to the ER with some type of injury. Sure enough, it was our miss-O; ER diagnosis: Head Injury. She seems to learn the hard way, for we have been working on disciplining her on standing on the furniture, waste-baskets, counters, tables, chairs, gates, beds, etc. It just doesn't phase her.
I asked her in the hospital if she was going to stand and jump on the couch (and also listed the above items) anymore and she answered, "NO" in a very low voice (that's her serious voice!)
So here's our little monkey in the ER after they discharged her to go home.
No more monkeys jumping on the couch!

Miscellaneous Pics

Miss O's new "no-pants!" After the snow had fallen, Mommy decided to get the kids some snow pants. Miss O insisted on wearing hers with her boots until bedtime the other night.
Snow-angel making in progress!

Time: 4am
Day: Black Friday
Where: M&D's house; going to nearby town and city for shopping
Who: Three *ahem* two hard-core shoppers, I just went to say that I have done it!
Pictured above is me and my Mom; evidence that I was up at 3:35am and ready to go!
Here are the Hard-core shoppers; my sister Paula and Mom. They had the morning all planned out. I helped "station" at the door buster that Mom wanted at Walmart. I waited there for 30 minutes....staring at the DVD player until the clock hit 5:00am.....oh, the craziness and fun all wrapped in one!

This is how much energy Miss O has! She is what I call my little hurricane or monkey.....where ever she goes she leaves just a little mess to know that she's been around. She climbs on everything and anything. Oh if I could only bottle it up her energy and drink it!

Happy Retirement Mom!

So my Mom has been working at the schools as a "lunch lady" and Food service Manager for over 20 years. Just think of how many mouths she has fed, how many names she has remembered, and all the changes that she has seen (food selections and clothing fads!)

I remember knowing that I would always be greeted by my mom everyday at school and that I would be getting a good meal each time too!

My favorite school lunches would be her mean peanut butter sandwiches and her delicious pizza!

So here's to my Mom who has touched many lives during her working years, kept a positive attitude always, and fed hungry tummies and growing minds!

Now Mom can enjoy hanging out with Dad, traveling, reading, gardening, and not have to worry about driving in treacherous weather to school to come find out it had been cancelled! I was going to add not worrying about getting up early, but I think she'll always do that...maybe she'll sleep in until 5:30-6:00 now!

Love ya Mom, I very proud of you!
