Trimming the Tree

Did you know way back in the history of our time, people used to decorate trees with apples; signifying the fall of man (temptation & sin)? It is thought this was the beginning of the tradition of the Christmas tree. Wow, did that tradition take off, there are all kinds of beautiful decorated trees now.
Our tree doesn't have a theme. It is our tree of memories; full of life and color. We have ornaments from Paul's and my childhood hanging on the tree. We even have some of our neat decorations that we made as children on the tree. Then there is a new generation of ornaments for Connor and Olivia. Each year I give them a decoration that represents their year. Last year Connor's ornament was Bob the Builder since he was such a productive little guy. Olivia didn't get one since we started on Connor's second Christmas.
This year; Connor will be receiving a spider man ornament since this was the year of spider man and Olivia will be getting a little mermaid ornament since she is the princess of water. She's loved her baths and the swimming pool since day one.
I can't say what Paul is getting since he reads this blog. Then usually we get an ornament on our vacation; but this year I forgot to pick one up in K.C. so I'm just doing a family one this year.
One of Paul's fancy pictures of the tree.
Here's our little elf!
Putting on the FIRST ornament!

We trimmed the tree in our jammies this year and sang with the Wiggles singing Christmas carols on the t.v.
Olivia is undecorating the tree.....ooops! she got caught!
Fascinated by the lights and decor.

This decorating sure makes one tired! Olivia and Tatum are taking a rest!
